Parasitic Plant Connection in Science! The May 24, 2002 issue of Science (Vol. 296, No. 5572, p. 1371) features the Parasitic Plant Connection in the NetWatch column (edited by Mitch Leslie). Mr. Leslie notes: "Despite their life-sapping reputation, Nickrent notes that most parasitic plants take only a small fraction of their host's resources - much less than a lawyer's 33%, for instance."
