  • The May 24, 2002 issue of Science (Vol. 296, No. 5572, p. 1371) features the Parasitic Plant Connection in the NetWatch column (edited by Mitch Leslie).
  • Mr. Leslie notes: "Despite their life-sapping reputation, Nickrent notes that most parasitic plants take only a small fraction of their host's resources - much less than a lawyer's 33%, for instance."
